Carrefour started operating in Greece with the opening of the first stores.

Carrefour has officially started the new era of its presence in Greece with the opening of its first 5 stores, which are already in operation since April.
The first phase of Carrefour’s stores network development, envisages the opening of stores regionally, with an emphasis on the tourist areas. There are already 2 stores operating in Zakynthos island and 3 stores in Chalkidiki, while the development of 7 more stores has been launched in the near future near tourist areas, such as Santorini island. The first phase of development is done with the franchise method.
Also, the first corporate store in Athens is being built and will start its operation by September, marking the expansion of Carrefour network in urban centers.
Aiming to the development of a total of 25 stores by 2022, Carrefour will include 5 different type of stores, depending on the data and specific conditions of each local market, including Carrefour Flash 10/10, the most innovative store type that will be inaugurated in Greece for the first time.
Carrefour Flash 10/10, is a type of fully automated, small-scale store, which Carrefour creates within urban centers. The main feature of this store type, is the absence of cash registers and the customer’s ability to shop quickly, following the 10/10 philosophy, meaning “10 seconds to shop and 10 seconds to pay”. Flash 10/10 offers a seamless shopping experience, with customers entering and leaving the store without going through a portal and using the cash register.
In addition to the innovative Carrefour Flash 10/10, the company launches 4 more basic type of stores, Carrefour Market, which is a larger store located in urban centers and region that offers a wide range of fresh and local products, Carrefour Bio which offers 100% organic and ecological products, Carrefour Express convenience stores which will be located in neighborhoods but also in city centers and SUPECO which are parking discount stores, a type of store that provides a selected range of products, covering all consumer needs at the current best market prices, which will be located at the entrances of large urban centers.

With the opening of our first stores, we officially started the new era of Carrefour in Greece, offering consumers quality products at the most competitive prices. This year, an effort will be made to operate all types of our stores, both in urban centers and regionally, including tourist areas that were the first phase of implementation of our strategic plan.”
Carrefour’s store network is developed by Retail and more, a subsidiary of Teleunicom-Globalsat Group Companies, which undertook, after a relevant agreement with the French company, the return of Carrefour stores in the Greek market.
